This knowledge haunts me.
It all started with a few conversations with my co-workers. Casual topics, about our respective backgrounds, cultural differences, and so on.
And gradually the horror set in.
It wasn’t even purposeful, not on my end. I would Google “US divorce rates”, find an article on Forbes, and suddenly, the Philippines is there. I would look into the burgeoning Noachide faith (as Judaic history is a major interest of mine) and I’d stumble onto a University of California Press journal article on Filipinos who claimed that Jews have five soul levels and non-Jews have only three soul levels.
Core memories were dredged up, in casual conversation. My fiancée finished Another Crab’s Treasure and I told her the ending happened in real life, It’s called Smokey Mountain in the Philippines.
Figured I’d collate everything here, and… Oh boy.
